Safeguarding with Health and Safety

At the Parish of St Mary's Bromley, we are committed to Safeguarding everyone - Children, Young People, Victims/perpetrators of Domestic Abuse and Vulnerable Adults.

We are part of the Church of England's Safeguarding practice

We are committed to implementing the House of Bishops’ safeguarding policies and good practice guidance.

The PCC's Formal Safeguarding Statement can be found here

We have adopted the House of Bishops’ “Promoting a Safer Church; safeguarding policy statement”

A copy of this can be found here

Safeguarding is grounded in being confident and well informed

Everyone with a role at St Mary's is asked to take the basic Church of England Safeguarding Awarenes course, which takes about an hour to complete.  Other people may also want to increase their safeguarding awareness by taking this free course.  You can access it directly by clicking on the following link:

https://safeguardingtraining.cofeportal.org/  and beginning by creating your new account.

Please contact Lisa Morris at lisamo2102@gmail.com our Parish Safeguarding Officer, or Alan Keeler, Anne Yolland or any of the Safeguarding Team if you need any further information on these courses.
There are no wrong questions and we are very happy to be of help.

Food Hygiene

St. Mary’s church seeks to be a caring community in all it does which follows from the God of love that we worship.
Hospitality and sharing meals are one of the crucial and delightful ways that we do this, very much inspired by Jesus’ table fellowship.

To support members of the congregation preparing food, the Safeguarding Team have prepared a policy based on a government document.
St. Mary's policy can be found here
The full government document can be found here

Hard copies are available from the Parish Administrator in the Parish Office.

Members of eth Safeguarding Team will be very happy to discuss any aspect of food hygiene or anything else to do with Safeguarding in St. Mary’s Church.
