The Bishop of Rochester is pleased to announce that The Revd Eucharia Ifeoma Asiegbu is to be appointed the next Vicar of St Mary's Church, Bromley.
Eucharia has recently completed her curacy in the benefice of St John's Sidcup with All Saints Footscray. St John's is a busy, town-centre church and All Saints is within a more semi-rural setting. Her varied experience in this benefice will certainly hold her in very good stead at St Mary's.
Eucharia is passionate about connecting with people and looks forward to building on the strong community ties that have already been successfully established at St Mary’s, while also fostering new ones. As a former childcare provider and Early Years Educator, the care and education of our young people are causes very close to her heart. She has served on the Governing Body of a Church Multi-Academy Trust and was part of the Bexley Borough School Admissions Appeal Panel.
Eucharia trained at St Augustine's College of Theology. In addition to her ministry work, she has a great love for music and enjoys expressing her faith through singing. This passion led her to establish two choirs: a non-denominational African group and an intergenerational gospel choir, both of which welcome participants regardless of their musical background.
She is married to Nnamdi, who is a Biomedical Scientist, and they have five children: Jennifer, Amaka, Gloria, Uchenna and Samuel.
Please hold Eucharia and the family in your prayers as they prepare to move to Bromley in the coming months in readiness for her new ministry. Details regarding her licensing service will be confirmed by the Bishop’s Office and shared with you in due course.
